Sunday Styles no. 73

Finally....FINALLY...I found something I've been searching for for what seems like years (more like months) without much luck. Everything I found was either too expensive or didn't fit quite right, but I found it yesterday and had to share my intense enthusiasm about it.

What might I be yammering on about?

THIS! This big, comfy, cozy, grey cardigan!
...Am I overreacting? Maybe to you.

But seriously, I've been going on and ooooooon to Charles about needing and wanting a cozy cardigan that wouldn't break the bank...especially since our dishwasher broke this month, we got a roomba (on the same day before the dishwasher decided to fail after I had already fallen in love with it) and then I got my hair done (more on this later - really excited about the latest look.)

So, yeah, spending money was not in the cards in terms of clothing (which reminds me, I need to do a closet cleaning and make my way over to Crossroads soon.)

Cut to Charles and I wandering through the mall yesterday in search of a particular something that he had his eye on and we ducked into the Uniqlo as per usual because, well, why not? In order to keep myself under control, I stuck with him and perused the mens section...and then my eyes happened to fall on a shelf full of cardigans.

...and one in particular...a light grey, thick one with a rolled collar, simple buttons, and spacious pockets...the only one of its kind on the shelf.

I paused momentarily, casually checked the size and was a mens medium. My brief feeling of triumph, that sudden pitter patter of my sartorial heart, was met with the crushing weight of disappointment. I pulled aside a sale associate and asked if they had it in a small.

He came back a few minutes later to tell me that this was the only one left. The weight of disappointment grew heavier until Charles suggested I try it on. I mean, what did I have to lose, right? So, I unbuttoned it and slipped my arms through.

It was a little big to be sure, but it felt perfect. Charles gave me a once over and said, "I kinda like it." So, I strolled over to the mirror, rolled up the sleeves a bit and realized that this was exactly what I wanted: pale grey, thick-knit (but not cable-knit), not prone to pilling, soft (but not itchy), big pockets, simple buttons, with a roll collar.'s as if my dream suddenly became a reality and fate delivered it to me as the last remaining cardigan in this particular Uniqlo.

Magic...AND it was on sale.
Double magic.

Sorry to go on about this, but it was something I've been obsessing over and now that I have it, I plan on living in it for the rest of the cooler months. Now, off to do some running around in this beautiful weather and spend some quality time with hubby and the pup.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and are enjoying the long weekend!
