Fashion Week: Day 7 (Nanette Lepore)

Alright. I'm waaaaay overdue on this post (and I still owe you Day 5 from Fashion Week!) You may be wondering why (or maybe you're not, but I'm going to tell you anyway.)

I got back from the Fashion Week hustle on Friday, completely burnt out on work and happy to be home. I was totally planning on posting, but something happened.

I got the flu.

Stomach flu to be more exact, which has basically left me in a state of feverish weakness. I'm still feeling pretty miserable, but the guilt of another day going by without posting was worse. So, here I am to tell you about the Nanette Lepore show! The last one I covered.

Firstly, I was pretty in love with the hair...

Here's fab blogger, Rachel Parcell, and TRESemmé stylist, Jeanie Syfu, discussing the hair look which is being rocked by the very gorgeous Saara.

It's basically that perfect bedhead that everyone wishes their hair actually looked like when they rolled out of bed. I dunno, maybe I'm the only one who has whack bedhead, but it doesn't look like this. (I should probably stop going to sleep with wet hair.)

It's also really fun how they got the look. They run mousse through it and tie it up with elastic cord to get some texture...

Just blowdry it with a diffuser so you can keep the texture and leave the ends out so it's a little edgier. Not sure if anyone told you, but you can give any hairstyle a little bit more edge by leaving the ends straighter. Just a little bit of rock n' roll.

The show itself was a lovely and completely wearable spring line. Reds, whites, florals, and flowy fabrics...

The epitome of fresh spring. I know I'm on an all-black kick right now, but this makes me wonder if I could actually get away with wearing red. Red's a statement color, right? Maybe a red suit is in order!

And there ya have it. Day 7 coverage. Sorry it took me so long. I need to go lie down again, but just wanted to pop in and say "hey!" Hopefully this flu will clear up soon. Back to soup n' tea for me. xo!
