Fashion Week: Day 3

I'm still alive!

Today was a non-show day for me, so I was able to do a little bit of running around the tents between coverage for TRESemmé (you wanna go see great hair & some fun, you can go check out the TRES instagram feed to see what I was doing for most of the day.)

So, as always, let us begin with the hair of the day. My love, Katy Yung (stylist extraordinaire), was inspired by my outfit today. (I went a little classic with under the knee, flaired white skirt and batwing, boatnecky tip that's cinched at the waste.

Here's what the process looked like:

Now imagine that all over my head. She set it, sprayed it, and brushed it out and then started with her meticulous retro-waving. It requires a lot of attention to detail, clips, pins, combs, and coaxing hair in different directions. Needless to say, only the highly talented can do it.

And this is what it ended up looking like:

And there's Katy on the left. We like to take Man Ray-esque photos whenever we can...hence the poses and red lips (which are always on trend. You knew that though.)

So, equipped with my retro hair and retro clothes, I galavanted around the tents.
Between covering great hair for TRESemmé, I found some wonderfully fabulous people with their equally fabulous clothing.

For instance...

Alexander Liang, editor-in-chief of Kenton Magazine! Always such a pleasure to see him at the tents. We came to the conclusion that black & silver is the modern-classic cousin of black & white...which obviously called for a photo. It's your typical fashionable astronaut and his retro wifey photograph. Right? (Totally.)

And his hair. I always love his hair. His platinum top from last season now has a lovely touch of short, I love me some Alexander!

Speaking of black & white, I found two other lovelies at the tents that stopped me in my tracks!

Behold!!! Lovely Linda Tol with her über-graphic fashion + white bowlcut combo AND the structural and strikingly dressed Lisa Nguyen! Bestill my black-and-white lovin' heart, I was girlcrushin' all over these two and hungry to get some more graphic & structural duds in my closet.

What was that? I think I just heard my wallet weeping in my bag over by the bed...

ANYWAY, back to other things I saw...

So, I'll be honest. There was a lot of boring black, folks dressed in club-goer dresses (too tan, dresses too tight, too short, too skimpy, nothing interesting...possibly streetwalker-esque - did I just say that? I'm horrible), the people wearing the wackiest things just to get a street photog to look at them...

They did not interest me.

Additionally, floral is really hot right now. I can't get past the fact that it reminds me a lot of Elaine-from-Seinfeld (whom I love as a character, but not a fashion muse) and that I can't seem to find a pattern I, I saved you the hassle of having to look at that trend. It's all over everything else so I didn't want to bore you.

Two other honorable mentions in my travels...

Adorable much? I wanted to hug both of these lovelies with their fresh baby blues. On the left, we have Joel Moore with his shorts & summer blazer (a look I adore), sassy smoking slippers, a lovely burgundy bag and, get this, a bowtie made of metal. See, this is a great example of a unique look that's still wearable.

And on the right is Jennifer Urbano Sales in this fresh, modern take on a classic dress. (By the way, her blog may be in Spanish, but her stylishness is obvious.) Her pixie cut just adds to the freshness made her stick out in the sea of long, wavy, boho waves. Love it!

So, there ya have it. My update for the day. It's midnight and I need to get some sleep. Tomorrow's a show day, so hope to capture some fun stuff for you all. Have a great night! xo!
