Sunday Styles no. 21

Baby, it's hot outside! Ok, well, it was hot yesterday and Friday. I'm talking mid-80's, people. Today looks like it'll be a low-70's kind of day. Overcast, but dry. East coast friends & family, I'm not gloating, though I might have been yesterday. Feel free to come visit any time. Mr. Merlin, good food, and a lack of humidity await you.

So, this goes out to yesterday and Friday! What do you do when the weather gets a little hotter? Well, layering is out of the question. At a few points during the last two days, I wished I could peel my own skin off, it was so scorching. Granted, I probably shouldn't have been standing directly in the sun for so long, but still. So, in times like these, I go the way of a wingless butterfly, coming out of my cold-weather cocoon. Let the skin exposure and sunscreen - I'm trying to be better about not oiling the slip n' slide to age spots - commence!

To me, tank tops and shorts don't have to mean boring or Jersey Shore. Keep the outfit simple with solid colors and accessorize the frijoles out of it with jewels, a fun hairstyle - shout-out to crimps - and shoes. Obviously, shoes. Today's look is something along the lines of "conservative Mad Max tripped on a crimper and fell into a pot of jewelry" or what I like to call the "M.M.C.P.O.J" I decided that smearing any dust or dirt on myself would've taken it too far, despite my love of authenticity. So, conservative Mad Max it is.

Also, BAM!

The newest evolution of my chevron mani is my gold & black version. Subtle, but swaggy. I'm in love. Just another way to accessorize! Also, excuse my lack of super-big smile. It's early and I get stage fright when a camera is that close to my face...even if my Husband's taking the photo.

So, what's your go-to when the temps start rising? Do you have a material of choice? A cut of choice? Dresses vs shorts? Let me know! I'm always up for expanding my warm-weather wardrobe.

Hope you all have a wonderfully sunny Sunday...and if not that, then one that's slightly less chilly! And to my east coast people, stay strong and consider a trip out here! xo!
