F-F-Fashion Week: Day 2

Fashion Week: Day 2...complete!...but not without a fight. When I left the hotel this morning, there were some seriously strong winds. By the time I got to Lincoln Center, I couldn't feel my forehead because it had been pelted with strong winds and sleet...and only for a mere 3 blocks. In short, fun times.

The day went something like this...

I prepped for the crazy weather by covering my head, neck, and eyes (for maximum lash dryness.) Note my lack of forehead or cheek cover. My face was a lovely shade of blotchy and dripping with icy cold water by the time I got to the tents. I also realized I forgot something at the hotel and had to trudge back...My lashes, however, stayed dry...and my lipstick was still on. Win?

...and now, on to today's looks!

I spotted this statement maker with the graphic skirt. I saw it and had to get a shot. (Excuse the slight blur. It was early, my camera settings were all wacky, and I was still defrosting from the morning walk.) Maybe it's the Lichtenstein fan in me, but nothing says "fun" like a good ol' cartoony "POW!" And, yes, I totally said, "I feel almost dirty asking you this..."

To which our fearless heroine responded, "Oh, you want a booty shot."
Done and done. This girl was owning it.

And then I found this duo. Now, we all know I love two-toned hair like the gentleman on the left, but you also know that I'm a sucker for neon. (Mostly on others, not so much on myself.) So, when this pair was lounging in the Lincoln Center lobby, I had to ask them for a fashionable pose. It's whimsical menswear...of which I am a fan.

And upon closer inspection, I saw these gorgeous finger adornments! I love hand swag and this is pretty swaggy. I do wonder if washing one's hands would be a pain (likely), but it's almost worth it. Juxtaposing metal with floral in this case is like the 90's done right. (That was a compliment!) I want those rings!

Last (I know, short on looks today - I was running around doing my day job, people), I discovered this gorgeous creature. She speaks to something deep in my soul. Something a little theatrical, a little whimsical, and all-over beautifully unconventional. I ran after this woman in the Lincoln Center lobby like a Greyhound after a track rabbit, nearly knocking over several fashionistas in teetering heels. It was worth it. She's like a modern day theatrical version of a Klimt painting. Bestill my itty bitty heart.

And because I'm short on looks, I took this one last shot before heading home in the blizzard back to my hotel. Got my hair did in a curly pomp and was straight-up menswear inspired today, complete with thin tie. I love a tie...I need to wear them more often. Dragon Girl continues to be my lip color of choice for the week that is Fashion.

...and then I trudged back to the hotel, took the bobby pins out of my hair and my head completely exploded...but, whatever, I ended up spending most of the night sitting in bed working anyway. No one to impress...just work to be done.

Now, it's off to bed for me. Hoping I can get some more looks for you tomorrow since it'll be a slightly slower day on the day job front. Hope everyone's gearing up for a relaxing weekend and if you're at the tents, let me know. Would love to see ya! xo!

    1. The tents are definitely fun this season (despite all the snow.)
As for the hair & make-up, I'm humbled by all the amazing make-up artists and hairstylists backstage this week.
I have no skills compared to them! :|

    1. For make-up, a quick, thick black liquid liner line on the upper lid with an extended filck at the outer corners can always give your look a little edge & polish...and depending on the thickness, you can go from classic to dramatic.

And as for hair, if you're a wash and go type, I say get a super, structural or interesting hair cut. I'm a fan of super blunt bangs, though they don't work on everyone...and color. If you're bored, a little color can make things fun. :)

I dont' do crazy things to my hair on the day to day. I usually just throw it up in messy braids or twists or wear hats.
I'm obsessed with hats. They can elevate any look in a snap. :)

The key is to not work so hard at anything.
No one has time for that! ;)

    1. Hey Girl!

So, you're the face behind the booty!
I'm always running around like a crazy person and fail at getting business cards!

Very few can rock a graphic skirt like you.
      Cheers to your POW! ;)
